Jacob Polansky

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt

Jacob “Jake” Polansky has been on the mats for over 12 years and brings a lifetime of grappling experience to Charlotte Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Originally from South Florida, Jake started training Jiu-Jitsu at 11 years old. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, leading him to compete regularly and win the 2015 FFBJJ Youth State Championship.
A move to Raleigh gave Jake the chance to combine Jiu-Jitsu with a successful high school wrestling career. He logged more than 250 wrestling matches, earning conference and regional titles, multiple state placements, and a spot on the 2018 North Carolina Cadet National Team. That high paced wrestling foundation continues to shape his aggressive, technical grappling style today.

Jake went on to train at BJJ Swamp Academy under Kenneth Panagiotakos, where he earned his purple belt before returning to North Carolina. Since 2021, he has been coaching and competing out of Charlotte Jiu-Jitsu Academy under John Piper, receiving his brown belt in 2024.
Today Jake leads CJJA Kids as Head Coach while actively competing on the local and regional circuit. His specialties include wrestling integration, kimura traps, and back takes but he’s always game to test his skills anywhere on the mat.
