Charlotte Jiu-Jitsu Academy (CJJA) is a jiu-jitsu school located at 2508 N Davidson St, Charlotte NC 28205. This page explains what information our website collects, how we use it, and who we share it with. We aim for plain language. If anything here is unclear, email info@cltbjj.com and we will explain.

Quick summary

We collect what we need to run the gym, communicate with you, and improve the site. We do not sell your data. The biggest categories of data we collect are basic contact info you submit through forms, and analytics about how visitors use the site.

What we collect

Information you give us directly through forms. Our contact forms on the pricing, kids, and summer camp pages collect different fields depending on the form.

The pricing and kids contact forms collect your name, email address, and message.

The summer camp form collects your name, email address, phone number, your child's first name, your child's age, your session preference, your attendance preference, your current membership status, and an optional message.

Information collected automatically when you visit. We use analytics tools that collect:

  • Pages you visit and how long you stay
  • How you arrived at our site (search engine, link, ad, direct visit)
  • Approximate location based on your IP address (city level, not precise GPS)
  • Your device type, browser, and screen size
  • Mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling behavior on our pages (via Microsoft Clarity, which is a session replay tool)
  • Buttons you click on our site that lead to our booking pages
  • Cookies set by the third-party services listed below

We do not collect or store full payment information, government IDs, social security numbers, or biometric data. Bookings and payments happen on our booking partner's site, not here.

How we use what we collect

  • To respond to your messages and trial requests
  • To send membership and class information you ask for
  • To run summer camp registration and communicate with parents
  • To understand which pages and buttons drive trials and bookings, so we can improve the site
  • To detect and stop spam, abuse, and security threats
  • To meet legal obligations when applicable

We do not run paid advertising campaigns from this site at this time. We do not retarget you with ads based on visits to this site.

Who we share it with

We use trusted third-party services to operate the site. Each of these companies has their own privacy policy that you can find on their website.

  • Cloudflare hosts our site, delivers content, and provides basic visitor analytics. Cloudflare sees every request to our site.
  • Google Analytics 4 measures pages, traffic sources, and clicks. When you click a booking button, we also send Google a record of which button was clicked, including a portion of the button label.
  • Microsoft Clarity records session replays of your visit. This includes mouse movements, clicks, scrolling, and what you type into form fields (passwords and credit card fields are automatically masked). We use this to understand how visitors use the site.
  • Chatbase powers the chatbot widget that appears on our pages. The chatbot script only loads after you interact with the page in some way, so if you never click, scroll, or tap, the chatbot script and its data flow never start. If you do chat with the bot, your conversation is processed by Chatbase.
  • Resend delivers contact form emails from our site to our staff inboxes. Per Resend's terms of service, they process email delivery only.
  • Wodify handles class bookings, trials, memberships, and payments. Our schedule page embeds Wodify's class calendar directly from app.wodify.com, which loads when you visit that page and may set Wodify cookies in your browser. When you click a "Book" or membership button anywhere on our site, you leave our site and continue on charlottejj.wodify.com. From that point on, Wodify's privacy policy applies. We attach tracking parameters to the links we send to Wodify so we can understand which page or button started a booking.
  • Google Fonts delivers the typefaces used on our site. Google receives your IP address and browser details when a font loads.
  • YouTube (in privacy-enhanced mode) hosts one embedded video on a coach bio page. No cookies are set unless you press play.
  • Google Maps displays our location on the homepage. Google may set cookies when the map loads.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data about children

Our summer camp page collects a child's first name and age from a parent or guardian. We collect this only to administer camp registration. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children under 13 through any other form or process on this site. If you believe your child has submitted data through our site without your consent, email info@cltbjj.com and we will delete it.

If your child becomes a member, additional information is collected through our booking partner (Wodify) during registration. Their privacy policy governs that data.

Cookies and tracking

The third-party services above set cookies and similar storage in your browser. Categories include:

  • Strictly necessary cookies set by Cloudflare for site security and basic delivery.
  • Analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and Cloudflare's web analytics.
  • Functional cookies from Chatbase (only after you interact with the page), Google Fonts, and Wodify (when the schedule page calendar embed loads).

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site or book classes.

Your choices

You can:

  • Email info@cltbjj.com to request a copy of any personal information we hold about you
  • Email info@cltbjj.com to request deletion of personal information we hold about you (some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes)
  • Use your browser's settings to block cookies, ad tracking, or session recording
  • Install browser extensions that block Google Analytics or session replay tools
  • Enable Do Not Track in your browser to limit Microsoft Clarity tracking. Clarity does not currently offer a direct end-user opt-out portal.

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, email info@cltbjj.com.

Security

We use Cloudflare's security features, HTTPS encryption, and access controls on our internal systems. No system is fully secure. If we ever discover a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected individuals as required by applicable law.

Data retention

  • Contact form submissions sent to our staff inbox remain there until we no longer need them to respond to your inquiry.
  • Analytics data is retained per each provider's default settings, which you can review in Google's and Microsoft's published documentation.
  • Member account data lives with our booking partner Wodify and follows their retention practices.

Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we make changes. Significant changes will be announced via email if you are a current member.
